What an incredible holiday! The Club Med model is incredible and surpassed all expectations! Incredible value too! The location is excellent, being ski in and out – very convenient. Restaurants and shops at the top of Castor & Pollux magic carpet a 10-minute walk away. Skiset for gear hire – 5 min walk. Gondola station (Cairn) opposite the hotel.
All the pre information you receive for checking in is helpful and makes everything seamless and efficient. If you’re going to be taking part in the ski lessons they ask you beforehand to fill out forms indicating your level etc so you are placed in appropriate ESF groups.
Would like to start by thanking Wallace at the Ski Pro Shop for excellent customer service.
Emily and FX at ESF as our super ski instructors.
Andrea and Rothia. Rothia moved hell and high mountain to get me some coins/change for the laundry. Not even reception could help but she made this happen.
Antonin – what a superstar! Friendly, fun and engaged and befriended the kids.
The quality and choice of food available at the buffet every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner was phenomenal! A little bit of extra effort is required to have more ‘main’ vegetarian options BUT when there were veg mains they were super and also when there were vegetarian starter bowls at the entrance of the restaurant, they were excellent (poke bowl, soya dumplings, mozzarella starter bowl etc). The salad bar and all the vegetarian side dishes were fantastic. There is a specialist in house Italian chef making incredible pizzas daily – they were better than eating outside club med! All the non veg options were plenty, of high quality and delicious too.
The snack spread that is laid out post morning ski was mind blowing and incredible. There were always bites available in the lounge in between meals and the tea time spread was always something we looked forward to – along with quiz time! Antonin made this a really fun event.
A few suggestions please:
Labelling Tea time snacks would be helpful. Had to ask a few times if the pies were veg or non veg.
More vegetarian main options rather than just lots of side dishes required.
Having milk available for self-service at tea time for tea/coffee would be great rather than having to ask the bar man who was very busy making cocktails!
A knife is required in the condiments section at breakfast to make taking peanut better etc easier – it doesn’t fall off a spoon easily and one doesn’t want to use their finger to contaminate the entire contents.
Chia seeds need to be replenished faster at breakfast as there were a few days where we were without.
An eye please on washing of cutlery and plates – we came across many dirty ones.
A good hot chocolate experience with whipped cream at tea time would be great rather than the machine hot chocolate – this was literally the only thing we had to go outside the hotel for.
The rooms at Club Med are tasteful, cosy and comfortable. Double sinks – a wonderful thought. Separate toilet and bathroom – excellent idea and toilet has enough space inside to store your suitcases. Storage – plentiful: Under bed, good cupboard space, bench storeage, Bedside tables, Desk. You can't hear any noise outside in the corridors from your room.
Cleanliness of rooms could be improved - Rooms quite dusty, inside drawers etc not very clean. Around and behind taps and sinks – not cleaned well and lots of dust.
Green water bottles and water dispensers outside the rooms - really cool touch.
Atmosphere of the hotel in general was great! Friendly and many different people from all over, some for the ski and some just to chill. All ages very welcome! Loved that there were so many fitness classes to choose from if one didn't want to ski - look forward to trying these and the spa next time!
All in all excellent and can't wait to come back!
